Everything you need to know about Matcha & Tea.

What is ceremonial matcha?

Ceremonial grade matcha is finely stone-ground green tea powder made from shade-grown tea leaves, intended for drinking on its own. Ours is made from Camellia sinensis grown in Kyoto, Japan.

How do I prepare matcha?

Sift a scoop (about 1 teaspoon) into a bowl, add 2-3 oz of hot water (about 160-175°F / 70-80°C), then whisk briskly in a zigzag motion until frothy. See the product page for full directions.

Can I make a matcha latte?

Yes. Whisk the matcha with a little hot water first to make a paste, then add steamed or cold milk of your choice, and ice if you like.

Does matcha contain caffeine?

Yes. Matcha comes from tea leaves and naturally contains caffeine, along with L-theanine. If you are sensitive to caffeine, start with a small serving.

What's the size of the tin?

The Ceremonial Matcha Powder contains 1.9 oz (54 g).

How quickly will my matcha ship?

Matcha ships within the United States. We ship within the United States only. Your first order ships free, and so does any order over $99. Orders are usually processed within 1-5 business days, and delivery then takes about 2-4 working days. You'll see your shipping options at checkout and can read the details in our shipping policy.
